There’s no denying that the C8-generation Chevrolet Corvette pushed the sports car to new heights with its mid-engined layout but its predecessor, the C7, still remains a very impressive automobile.
Plenty of compelling C7 Corvette models are available on the used car market, although this one available through Barrett-Jackson is a little different than most. For starters, it was once owned by American politician and US Army general, the late Colin Powell. Additionally, all of the funds raised by its sale will go to charity.
The car is currently available as part of the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. It was apparently driven daily by Powell and has 15,600 miles (25,105 km) on the clock. While it is unclear if Powell purchased the ‘Vette when it was new, it looks to have been well cared for and would still turn plenty of heads.

Adorning the exterior of the car is a Gunmetal Gray color complemented by the wheels with a chrome finish. It also sports a removable carbon fiber roof panel and has been left completely stock, adding to its desirability.
The cabin is clad in black fabric, carpet, and leather. Key features include the 8-way power-adjustable seats, keyless entry with push-button start, and an 8-inch infotainment display. You may also notice that the car is equipped with the available automatic transmission, rather than the 7-speed stick shift.
The entire sales price of the car will benefit America’s Promise Alliance which was founded and chaired by Powell. It is a large cross-sector alliance of nonprofit, community organizations, businesses, and government organizations dedicated to improving the lives of young people.
So, if you’re in the market for a C7 Corvette and also want to make a generous donation to a charity, this could be the perfect opportunity.
