The first examples of the Porsche 911 Sport Classic have just begun to start reaching the hands of consumers, and sure enough, dealers are already adding their markups.
Shared by a user on Reddit, who cited a photo from Bay Area Group Drives, a California Porsche dealership by the name of Porsche Redwood City is asking $250,000 over MSRP for a Sport Classic, which is nearly as much as the car retails for to begin with.

The original MSRP of the Sport Classic is $272,300. With options, this particular one came out to $288,910. Not too bad, however, on top of that, Porsche Redwood City added the aforementioned $250,000 in markups, amounting to an 86.5 percent increase in price and bringing the total up to an astronomical $538,910. The listing on the dealership’s website reads: “Please call for price”, and we’re starting to see why. We get that this is a limited-run car of which only 1,250 will be produced, but that kind of price-gouging is borderline unforgivable.

Was this to be expected? Probably, but at least for the price you’re getting something good. As the most powerful 911 with a manual transmission, the Sport Classic‘s 3.7L twin-turbo flat-six sends 543 hp (550 PS / 405 kW) and 442 lb-ft (728 Nm) of torque to the rear wheels exclusively via a 7-speed row-your-own gearbox. The car also features tweaked styling with a ducktail spoiler, new wheels, and a handful of carbon fiber parts, as well as gold badging, vinyl graphics, and unique interior details such as houndstooth seats.
That being said, as good as this car is, would you shell out this much for one? Let us know in the comments.
