If you are into Japanese luxury sedans from the ’90s you’re probably aware of the Nissan President. However, we are pretty confident there is no other President looking like the pictured JDM vehicle that is currently listed for sale on eBay. The model with the wide bodykit and the pink shade has a pretty long list of modifications but its history is unknown, meaning it’s only for the brave.
The third-gen Nissan President debuted in Japan back in 1989 and remained in production until 2002. Americans are probably familiar with its cousin, the first-gen Infiniti Q45 (1989-1999). While the original Nissan flagship has understated looks, the example that is up for sale has Bosozoku-inspired upgrades.

At the front, the stock headlights and chrome-infused grille are retained, but all of the other body panels have been altered. The pronounced front bumper has a very large splitter, there is a vent on the bonnet, and extra intakes on the significantly wider fenders. On the profile, the aftermarket wheels are not in the best condition but they are quite wide. Don’t be fooled by the chrome on the mirrors and window frames making it look like an old Jaguar XJ as this was a factory feature.
The rear fenders are even wider, with extensions on the rear doors leading to the large integrated spoiler. The stock taillights look tiny compared to the DTM-style body, while the deeper rear bumper houses quad exhaust tailpipes, part of an aftermarket stainless steel exhaust system. A closer examination reveals some defects in the Barbie-style hue, with the seller suggesting it would look a lot better if it was repainted in black.
The interior appears to be in a better state, if you’re a fan of cream leather upholstery with pink piping and matching accents, that is. Remember that this is a luxury sedan so there is a TV screen for the rear passengers and an array of buttons in both rows – presumably for the electronically-controlled seats. We won’t comment on the aircraft-style switches on the center console as we really don’t have a clue what they do.
According to the ebay listing, the vehicle is located in the UK and spent many years in dry storage up until recently. It is a JDM example from 1994 but the mileage is not included in the description. However, a photo of the engine bay proves that the original naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 still lies under the bonnet.
At the time of writing, the highest bid for the tuned President was £5,100 ($6,307) with less than a day until the auction closes. Is this a fair deal for a heavily modified unicorn, or just another money trap looking for new owners?
