The largest gathering of Porsche models in South East Asia recently took place in Bangkok, Thailand with the seventh iteration of ‘Das Treffen.’
The event, founded by Sihabutr ‘Tenn’ Xoomsai in 2016, has grown each year since its formation and brings together the car manufacturer’s classic and modern vehicles. The theme for this year’s event was ‘Dreams in Colors’ and paid homage to the array of bright colors that Porsche offers, as well as the many personalities of its models.
This year’s Das Treffen was held at IMPACT Speed Park in Bangkok and didn’t just have cars on static display. In fact, it featured a Gymkhana Zone where owners could compete in time trials. There was even a Kids’ Driving School where the youngest of Porsche fans had the opportunity to jump behind the wheel.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Porsche’s sports cars, the 60th anniversary of the 911, and the 30th anniversary of Porsche in Thailand. In addition to the dozens of customer-owned cars that were on display during the event, Porsche Thailand also unveiled a special art installation with the seven colors of the week in Thai culture.
“I always had a thing for Porsche since I was a kid,” Xoomsai said at the event. “The first Porsche I drove belonged to my father’s friend. He came over to our house one day in a brand new 964, tossed me the keys and asked me to get them something to drink. I never forgot that day – the sound, the smell and the kick in the back. The most important thing I learnt that day is that the best way to enjoy a Porsche is to share it. Since then, that is what I tried to do – to share my passion with my friends and fellow enthusiasts.”
