Sure, the Dodge Viper may be dead but there remains a thriving scene for Viper tuning and drag racing. In fact, some of the world’s quickest road-legal cars are twin-turbocharged Vipers producing astronomical levels of power. This example is one of them.
The Viper in question has been built up by Calvo Motorsports in the U.S. and while we don’t have a full list of modifications made to it, we do know that its V10 engine is rocking a pair of massive 88 mm turbochargers from Garrett.
The crew from Goobers Garage recently strapped the Viper into its hub dyno and it returned a truly remarkable 3,317 hp and 2,307 lb-ft (3,127 Nm) of torque at the wheels. That means the twin-turbocharged V10 itself is likely pumping out over 3,700 hp. To put that into perspective, that’s more power than five McLaren 720Ss and almost four Ferrari SF90 Stradales.

Unsurprisingly, the car looks like quite an unruly beast on the dyno and spits out massive flames on the overrun after each dyno pull.
Dodge Vipers like this are capable of some breathtaking performance feats. In November last year, we shared a video of a separate Viper that had been modified by Nth Moto to also produce over 3,300 hp. It too features a pair of Garrett 88 mm turbochargers but remarkably retains the OEM engine block and head castings. It ran down the quarter-mile in a blistering 6.68 seconds at 220.1 mph (354.2 km/h) during testing, setting a new world record for a Viper in the process.
