Toyota has unveiled a pair of special edition GR Yaris models at the Tokyo Auto Salon that celebrates its success in the World Rally Championship.
While the Japanese automaker is keeping the release dates of the two models under wraps, it has revealed that one will be dubbed the Sébastien Ogier Edition while the other will be the Kalle Rovanperä Edition. Ogier walked away as World Rally Champion with Toyota in 2021 while 22-year-old Rovanperä was World Rally Champion last year.

The Ogier Edition is finished exclusively in a lovely shade of matte silver and has black Toyota Gazoo Racing decals on both doors. It has also been outfitted with blue brake calipers while the wheels also sport some small decals denoting it as a special edition model. Some minor changes have been made to the interior, including blue, white, and red contrast stitching and a special plaque on the front console.
As for the Rovanperä Edition, it has a much more striking rally-inspired exterior finish combining elements of white, red, and grey. It too has World Rally Championship decals, wheel decorations, red brake calipers, and has been equipped with a special aerodynamics package that adds a more pronounced front splitter and a large rear wing. It also has blue and silver contrast stitching and a special plaque.
Both the Ogier and Rovanperä Edition models are based on the Toyota GR Yaris RZ variant available in Japan. As such, they feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that churns out 268 hp and has been tweaked to deliver 287 lb-ft (390 Nm). Toyota also offers buyers the opportunity to have the accelerator, all-wheel drive system, and steering tune tweaked to meet their driving style.
