An intriguing 1978 Ferrari 512 BB is up for sale in the UK and is unlike any other 512 you may have seen before, thanks to the modifications it has received.
For as impressive as the 512 BB was from the factory, a previous owner of this example sent it to Emblem Sports Cars in the mid-1980s to be converted into a Koenig Special model. This conversion saw the Italian sports car outfitted with a revised rear clamshell with wider arches and new NACA ducts. It also features flared side skirts and a revised front bumper with a more pronounced splitter.
The car has been listed up for sale through Scott Hardy Automotive in Macclesfield on eBay with an asking price of £169,991 ($205,043). The dealer doesn’t state how many 512 BB models converted by Koenig there are in existence but says they are “few and far between.”

As part of the Koenig conversion, the car was repainted from silver to black. The new color works wonders on the car and helps to highlight the dramatic new stance. The rear three-quarter angle of the car is particularly striking thanks to the flared arches and the wide wheel and tire package.
The listing doesn’t state if any modifications have been made to the engine. Even if it is stock, the 4.9-liter naturally-aspirated flat-12 was good for 340 hp and 331 lb-ft (449 Nm) of torque when the car was new.
Just 929 examples of the 512 BB were ever produced and only 101 of them are right-hand drive models like this one. The eBay advertisement notes that the car has been driven 40,338 miles (64,917 km).
