All Kia models in the UK produced from 2022 onwards are now capable of receiving over-the-air software updates.
This means that all 2022 and 2023 Kia models with Kia Connect can receive map and related software updates wirelessly. Previously, customers had to manually download updates from the Kia Navigation Updates portal or by visiting a local Kia dealership.
Maps of the UK and Europe are the only ones that can be updated over the air. Also available are interface improvements and bug fixes. Kia’s OTA update campaign also introduced the EV6’s ‘Eco’ driving mode to all other electric Kia models. It also brings with it improved voice recognition and improved 3D map visualization.
Individuals or businesses who own a compatible Kia model can enable over-the-air updates by installing the latest software version from the Kia Navigation Updates website. Once this update is installed, owners will be automatically notified when a new update becomes available and prompted to download and install it.

This isn’t the only exciting Kia-related news to emerge over the past couple of weeks. Indeed, an alleged pre-production prototype of the all-electric EV9 SUV was recently filmed on the move in Santiago, Chile. If the video was legitimate, we might be up for a production model that will look almost exactly like the concept.
The Kia EV9 will be the brand’s most feature-rich model, based on Hyundai’s versatile E-GMP platform. Little is known about the SUV’s specifications but it could be offered with two powertrain configurations delivering between 200 hp and 400 hp. The EV9’s driving range will reportedly sit between 220 – 290 miles (354 – 467 km) depending on the trim level.
