The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 will set back U.S. shoppers from $65,850 when it lands in the hands of customers later this year, joining the GV60 and Electrified G80 in the brand’s range of EVs.
The Electrified GV70 is not a ground-up EV, like the GV60; instead, it’s based on the regular ICE-powered GV70. The model range kicks off with the Advanced AWD variant, which is priced at $65,850 and is loaded with features like a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a wireless device charger, a fingerprint authentication system, and vehicle-to-load charging.

There’s also a dizzying array of safety features. These include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-Sport Collision Avoidance-Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Highway Driving Assist, and Smart Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go.
Shoppers not satisfied with the Genesis Electrified GV70 in Advanced AWD guise can opt for the Prestige AWD variant priced from $72,650. This model has the same features as the ‘base’ model but adds Nappa leather seating, a leatherette-wrapped upper instrumental panel, a microfiber suede headliner, a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and a Lexicon Premium Audio system. The Prestige AWD model even has Active Noise Control, heated 2nd-row seats, a heated steering wheel, and manual rear door shades.
To put the Electrified GV70’s price into perspective, the entry-level 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder GV70 starts at $42,900 while the more powerful 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 is available from $55,000.
Powering the SUV is a 77.4 kWh battery pack with a pair of electric motors that combine to deliver 429 hp and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. With Boost mode activated, peak power rises to 483 hp, enough to send the SUV to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.2 seconds.
Like other EVs from Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis, the Electrified GV70 supports 350 kW DC fast charging, meaning the battery can be topped up from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 20 minutes.
The Electrified GV70 is the first Genesis model to be assembled in the United States, coming to life at the firm’s manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.
