The internet’s reaction to the seventh-generation Ford Mustang appears largely positive but we know how the carmaker could have won over even more performance car enthusiasts. Launching the new model with a Shooting Brake variant.
The idea of a Ford Mustang Shooting Brake seems a little strange on the surface. After all, the muscle car is beloved for its Fastback design and a Shooting Brake variant would undoubtedly rub a few enthusiasts the wrong way. However, we think it looks excellent.

Created by Sugar Design on Instagram, the Mustang Shooting Brake render retains the somewhat-controversial front fascia as the standard model. The alterations begin with the fitment of a glass roof over the driver and front passenger as well as an extended roof above the second row of seats. The side windows have also been enlarged.

Unsurprisingly, the car is best viewed from the rear. The steeply-raked window immediately catches the eye, as does the small spoiler stretching off from the roof. While no changes have been made to the car’s rear quarter panels, they are particularly striking and catch the eye. Sugar Design has rendered the car in both a shade of light gold and in black. The former gets our vote.
While a Ford Mustang Shooting Brake will probably never see the light of day, interest in the new pony car is high. In fact, the very first 2024 Mustang GT recently sold for $490,000 at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction.
