GAC used last year’s Guangzhou Auto Show to unveil the Aion Hyper GT and now they’re following up by releasing interior pictures.
While the company didn’t say much about the cabin, it features a light and airy design that cribs from the Tesla playbook. However, this isn’t a copy as drivers will find themselves sitting behind an oval-shaped steering wheel and looking at a freestanding digital instrument cluster.
To the right is a floating infotainment system, which appears to control virtually everything as the cabin is largely devoid of switchgear. Further below, we can see slender air vents and a Tesla-like phone charger with a wooden surround.

Elsewhere, there are elegant door panels with gloss black trim, metallic switchgear, and electric openers. They’re joined by stylish speaker grills and sizable storage compartments.
Last but not least, we can see perforated leather seats, a panoramic glass roof, and what appears to be suede upholstery on the dashboard, door panels, and roof.
Aion hasn’t said much about the car since it was introduced last year, but it features an impressively low drag coefficient of 0.19. The model rides on the AEP3.0 platform and will be offered with a rear-mounted electric motor that develops 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. The company says this will enable the Hyper GT to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in four seconds.
