The Super Bowl is nearly upon us and it appears Ram will use their 60-second commercial to reveal the all-new 1500 REV, the name of which was officially confirmed today at the Chicago Auto Show.
Previewed by the 1500 BEV concept at CES, the truck will be fully electric and go into production next year. Additional details will be released on Super Bowl Sunday (February 12), but Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. said “We look forward to delivering our first EV pickup – the all-new Ram 1500 REV – to … consumers next year.” He added the company is confident the truck will “push past the competition, offering what will be the leading combination of attributes customers care about the most: range, payload, towing and charge time.”
Besides dropping a few hints, Ram released a couple of teaser images that show the production electric pickup. As expected, the design closely echoes the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV concept, but we can see the production model will have a lightly revised grille that eschews yellow marker lights and features a slim gloss black panel. The illuminated Ram logo carries over, but it appears smaller than the one found on the concept.

We can also see different headlights and a revised front bumper with modified intakes. Last but not least, the teasers provide a glimpse of a bulging hood with two-tone “REV” badging.
There’s no word on specifications at this point, but the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV concept rode on the STLA Frame platform and featured a 350 kW DC fast charging capability, which enabled the model to get up to 100 miles (161 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. Other highlights included an adjustable air suspension and a Hummer EV-like four-wheel steering system.
Powertrain aside, the concept had a “brutiful” design with a power multifunction tailgate, a power frunk, and a mid-gate that enabled the truck to haul items up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) long with the tailgate closed. The concept also had a high-tech interior and third-row jump seats, although how much will carry over to the production model remains to be seen.
