The Porsche Taycan is a vehicle that would have been inconceivable just a decade ago and yet, it hasn’t just established itself as one of the best EVs on the market but also outsold the iconic 911 in 2021.
Of all the versions of the Taycan that have been introduced since the car’s launch, the Cross Turismo is perhaps the most well-rounded and was recently pushed to its limits by none other than Mark Webber, a nine-time Formula 1 race winner and former Porsche Le Mans driver.
To help promote the all-electric estate in Australia, Webber was handed the keys to a Taycan 4S Cross Turismo and headed to the beautiful state of Tasmania. The Aussie didn’t just stick to paved roads throughout his journey and instead headed to Jacob’s Ladder, a scenic gravel road with switchbacks and cliffs hundreds of feet high.

The video doesn’t just serve to promote the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo but also aims to spread Porsche’s environmentally-conscious message as it electrifies its line-up.
“Driving in a place like this, you are reminded why we need to protect our environment for future generations,” Webber says in the video. “This versatile all-rounder has pure Porsche DNA and the uncompromising dynamics of the Taycan. In developing the Taycan Cross Turismo, Porsche has created an all-electric sports car that is a great match for even the most adventurous terrain.”
The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is sold in Australia in 4S and Turbo guises with local prices starting at AU$201,000 ($137,186) before on-road costs.
