Ford’s Volkswagen-ification is upon us as the company has teased one of their upcoming MEB-based EVs.

In the short clip, Ford of Europe Design Director Amko Leenarts lifts the skirt on an unnamed model and reveals an aerodynamically optimized wheel.  While the company did something similar last year, this particular model could be the so-called “Sport Crossover” that will arrive in 2024.

While it’s impossible to be certain at this point, the crossover in the latest teaser video appears to have a more rakish windscreen.  Furthermore, while the wheels are similar, the wheel arches are different and this model appears to have less plastic cladding.

Ford is staying tight-lipped as Model e Europe boss Martin Sander simply teased it will be a “rebellious, uncompromising, SUV … reimagined for the EV era.”  That’s pretty vague, but the crossovers are expected to be Ford’s take on the ID.4 and ID.5.

The more traditional of the two was spied earlier this month and bears no resemblance to its German counterpart.  Instead, the model features soft curves, a sloping roof, and a relatively compact greenhouse.

While the models will look completely different, we wouldn’t be surprised to find a 77 kWh battery pack as well as an available dual-motor all-wheel drive system with a combined output of 262 hp (195 kW / 265 PS).  The latter powertrain enables the ID.4 to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.9 seconds and have a WLTP range of up to 321 miles (517 km).

We can also expect additional variants, but we should learn full details on March 21.
