Hennessey’s new performance kit for the Chevy C8 Corvette Stingray gives the car more power than the new Z06 while still maintaining that characteristic Corvette engine note. If the Z06 feels a little too European for you, this might be the answer.
The Texas tuner dubs its kit the H700 which, as you may have guessed, refers to the power on offer. Indeed, thanks to the fitment of a high-flow centrifugal supercharger, as well as an air induction system with an air-to-water intercooler, and an optional cat-back exhaust, the car delivers 708 hp and 638 lb-ft (865 Nm) of torque.

This horsepower figure represents a 44 percent increase over the standard 490 hp and a 37 percent gain over the standard 465 lb-ft (630 Nm). That’s more power than the C8 Z06 with its 670 hp and 460 lb-ft (623 Nm) courtesy of a naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 with a flat-plane crank.
A number of other features come included with the H700 package. For example, there are new lightweight 19-inch and 20-inch wheels available with brushed aluminum, satin black, or graphite finish. Hennessey has also designed new graphics to add to the sporty prowess of the mid-engined supercar.
“The stock C8 Corvette Stingray is an extraordinary sports car, yet Chevrolet left some V8 performance on the table,” John Hennessey said. “Our exciting ‘H700’ supercharger package integrates seamlessly with the 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and our exhaust upgrade sounds much more aggressive than stock. Considering that our power and torque surpass the factory Z06, the Hennessey ‘H700’ is arguably the best value high-performance supercar in the world.”
The complete H700 package is priced at $49,950 while the power-only package can be purchased for $34,950. All packages come with a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty.
