Gran Turismo 7 has made some big improvements since its release and a new update only adds to the fun. Update version 1.29 arrives this week with five new cars, a brand-new racing venue, and a slew of other great features. Here’s a look at what you can expect as the update rolls out to players.
The brand new racing venue isn’t totally new in that it’s a classic Gran Turismo original course. Dubbed Grand Valley Speedway, it’s well-known in the GT community as a course with a great mix of high and low-speed sections.
While we haven’t seen the way that it’s brought to GT7, expect significant changes as the team at Polyphony Digital says that it has “an all-new look”.

That new look includes a new “South” layout featuring “harsh elevation changes and blind corners to keep drivers on their toes.” In addition, the track will feature a bridge, a tunnel, and an ocean view along one section.
New Cars
Joining the list of available automobiles on Gran Turismos 7 are five new ones starting off with the 1970 Citroen DS 21 Pallas. The classic French car features a FF layout along with a four-cylinder engine and hydropneumatic suspension.
The only race car in this update’s bunch is the 1965 Honda RA272. It features a 1.5-liter V12 (yes, you read that right) and about 230 hp (171 kW). When you see a Championship White Honda Type R with red badging it’s an homage to this very car.
Italdesign dropped a pair of cars on us during this update. Named the EXENEO Vision Gran Turismo there are two versions; Street Mode and Off-Road Mode. The design firm says that it’s powered by a mid-mounted V10 and an electric motor hybrid system.
Finally, the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS makes its debut on Gran Turismo 7. As the RS that led to the family of cars we know and love today, it should be a drive around in the game.
Other Features
In addition to all of that goodness, Sony says that Gran Turismo 7 will now feature full Playstation VR2 support on PS5 consoles. The eye-tracking VR suite is said to be one of the very best in the business. In addition, players will get a chance to race against Polyphony Digital’s AI creation GT Sophy in a limited game mode.
