McLaren announced today that its cars will be the inspiration for the first-ever Lego Speed Champions double pack. The toy maker has decided to immortalize the McLaren F1 LM and the Solus GT to celebrate the famed automaker’s 60th anniversary.
Described as two of the automaker’s most iconic supercars of all time, the set that celebrates them will be made up of a total of 581 pieces, including two Lego minifigure drivers, a man and a woman, who fit into the cars. Just like the real cars, both models feature a central driving position.
The McLaren F1 LM features Papaya orange bricks that celebrate the legendary automaker’s longtime racing color. The Solus GT, meanwhile, has orange wings, with black and white body work.

Once complete, the F1 GT measures in at 1.5-inches (4 cm) tall, 5.5-inches (15 cm) in length, and 2.5-inches (7 cm) wide. The Solus GT, meanwhile, is 1.5-inches (4 cm) tall, 6.5-inches (6 cm) long, and 3-inches (8 cm) wide.
Taken together, the set celebrates the history of the automaker, which has been competing under its founder’s name for 60 years. Created by New Zealand’s Bruce McLaren, the team is the only one in history to win the highly prized “Triple Crown of Motorsport,” taking victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
“I always felt that F1 LM creates an incredibly strong link from what we have been in the last 60 years of racing, into what will be the future of McLaren Automotive, as well as racing,” said Goran Ozbolt, McLaren’s chief designer, in a video published today.
Hitting store shelves on March 1, 2023, the McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM Speed Champions double set will retail for $39.99 (€49.99/£39.99).
