Design centers are home to some of the best-kept secrets in the automotive industry but sometimes we get a glimpse of something that was supposed to stay hidden. This is the case with this mystery vehicle that was caught by our spy photographers during transport from Ford’s premises in Dearborn, Michigan.
The fully hidden model lies below a custom car cover that has been secured into position with a healthy amount of black tape. Still, we can see its aerodynamic silhouette featuring a comparably short bonnet, large diameter wheels, a sleek roofline, and a Kam-tail design at the back. The lower part is uncovered, revealing some of its bumper trim and side sills finished in black, contrasting with the white-painted bodywork.

Based on the outer shape and proportions of the concept, we could speculate it is designed for a fully electric powertrain. However, it is not clear if the model is wearing Ford or Lincoln badges, and we don’t know if this is just a design study or part of the development for a future production vehicle. We have to admit though it looks a lot closer to production status than the most recent concept cars by Lincoln.
The fact that the concept was placed on a motorized pallet jack likely means it is a clay model. This is also hinted at by the lack of mechanical components behind the futuristic alloy wheels. Judging from the people photographed around it and the size of the truck bed it was being loaded into, we are looking at a 1:1 scale model.
The vehicle was photographed outside Ford’s Conference and Event Center in Dearborn. According to our sources, the truck drove to Ford’s Product Development Center where it reversed into one of the special loading bays. At the same time, the spy photographer noticed large dividing panels being loaded onto another truck. This setup makes us believe that the concept took part in some kind of presentation, possibly for the evaluation of its design.
Unfortunately, it was really hard to find more information about the concept, and its nature will remain a mystery at least until our next sighting. Hopefully, it will evolve into a concept car or even a production vehicle in the future, helping ease our curiosity.
