Our spy photographers have captured images of a new, camouflaged prototype of a fully electric Cadillac SUV undergoing tests in snowy conditions, indicating an upcoming production model. The three-row crossover’s dimensions seem to fall between those of the XT6 and the Escalade, with sources indicating it is likely to serve as an EV replacement for the former, rather than the latter.
The body of the vehicle was fully covered in a camouflage wrap and came fitted with provisional lighting units. However, its Cadillac nature is evident from the outline of the emblem on the tailgate. Also, the placement of the lighting units is on par with the brand’s styling language and looks very similar to earlier Cadillac prototypes including the compact EV we spotted last year.

The prototype appears smaller than an Escalade-sized EV, leading us to believe it could replace the XT6. Nevertheless, the SUV shares styling cues with the Escalade, such as the flat window line and the long tail. The rear-end design, if not for the Cadillac badge and extra lighting units on the sides of the rear windscreen, could resemble that of a Range Rover. A small hole on the wrap reveals a section of the skid plate on the rear bumper.
The rear side windows are covered, but the long wheelbase, tall roof, and the positioning of the rear seats suggest a three-row layout for the interior. We also caught a glimpse of the digital cockpit that looks similar to the Lyriq and which could be the same 33-inch 9K curved display found in the updated 2024 Cadillac XT4.
Although the SUV’s bonnet is rather long, the fully covered grille and the absence of a tailpipe suggest a zero-emission powertrain. Cadillac recently announced its plan to launch three new EV models this year, including an entry-level XT4-sized two-row crossover, the pictured XT6-sized three-row crossover, and a fully electric Escalade.
Our spy photographers caught two examples of the same vehicle, accompanied by a Cadillac Celestiq and a couple of Chevrolet Silverado EVs participating in a GM group testing session. We’ll be keeping an eye out for further sightings of Cadillac prototypes, hoping they’ll soon shed some of their camouflage and provide us with a clearer idea of the upcoming production EVs.
