The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is an undeniable performance beast, and that has been the case with each and every iteration of the RS-branded 911s. To pay tribute to the one that started it all 70 years ago, the legendary Carrera RS 2.7, Porsche revealed a special package for the new GT3 RS shortly after its launch in August of last year.

While that one was technically a concept despite its near production readiness, Porsche has revealed the first actual production example after detailing pricing for the package last October. Called the “Tribute to Carrera RS Package”, the retro-influenced car will only be available to customers in the United States.

The most prominent aspect of the package comes in its unique styling elements, which adds Python Green accents throughout the car to hearken back to those on the original Carrera RS 2.7. The color can be found on items such as the side graphics, mirror caps, wheels, rear bumper, and rear wing. And seeing as this package is a U.S. exclusive, the endplates of that massive swan neck wing feature an American flag graphic alongside the “RS” script.

Inside, the German sports model gets deviated stitching in green, door sills with illuminated “Tribute to Carrera RS” script, white keys, and Porsche’s “RS” embossed on the center console.

As for performance, optioning the Tribute to Carrera RS Package means you also get the Weissach Package as standard. Most notably, it includes lightweight magnesium wheels, as well as anti-roll bars, coupling rods, and a shear panel all made of carbon fiber. Of course, this is all on top of the bonkers base that is the “normal” 911 GT3 RS, and if you’d prefer to not have things like your hood and roof in exposed carbon (the default for the GT3 RS), Porsche will give them to you in body color for no extra cost.

“This package pays tribute to the 911 Carrera RS 2.7, an absolute driver’s car and an icon,” said Kjell Gruner, Porsche North America’s CEO. “Today, nothing epitomizes the idea of a driver’s car more than the new 911 GT3 RS. Like the original, it uses cutting edge aerodynamics to achieve incredible performance, making this a perfect homage to the legend from 1973.”

In addition to the car itself, GT3 RS buyers who order the package will also get a matching Porsche Design watch, a custom car cover, custom license plate frames, RS valve stem caps with script in Python Green, key caps in Python Green, and a two 1:43 scale model cars: one of the special edition 911 GT3 RS and one of the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7 it’s inspired by.

While the standard 911 GT3 RS starts at $262,050 in the USA, pricing for cars equipped with the ‘Tribute to Carrera RS Package’ begins at $312,550 (excluding the $1,450 fee for delivery, processing, and handling fee). And that’s not accounting for any markups that are more likely than not to occur. Initial deliveries to customers who’ve already ordered theirs are slated to begin within the coming weeks.
