BRP, a Canadian manufacturer of snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles and personal watercraft, hasn’t been shy about its plans for electrification. Last year, the company unveiled two new electric models: the Origin and Pulse.
Now, Ski-Doo and Lynx are stepping into the spotlight with plans to launch their first electric snowmobiles in 2024. The company didn’t say much about them, but the lineup will include the Ski-Doo Grand Touring Electric as well as the European-only Lynx Adventure Electric.
Both models closely echo their ICE-powered counterparts and promise emissions-free fun as well as a “unique ride that is inviting for first timers to experience the world of snowmobiling.” BRP didn’t go into many specifics, but the models will use Rotax E-Power technology and apparently have a range of up to 31 miles (50 km).

Unfortunately, customers won’t be able to buy one as the snowmobiles were designed and built exclusively for Uncharted Society outfitters and tour operators. They offer guided excursions in Europe and North America, and pricing varies by location, experience, and duration.
While a number of questions remain, the Canadian company says they’re dedicated to reducing their carbon footprint and noted the electric snowmobiles are the “first products to be commercialized as part of BRP’s commitment to offer electric models in all of its product lines by 2026.” They’ll be joined by the Can-Am Origin and Pulse motorcycles in 2024 as well as the Sea-Doo Rise electric hydrofoil.
