The McLaren Artura took a troubled and trial-some path to production and deliveries. Despite that, we really loved our first drive in it and imagine that most owners will come away impressed and eager to take great care of their new hybrid supercar. Somehow, somebody has already totaled one to the point that it’s damaged on just about every surface.
The Artura signals a new chapter for McLaren. It’s a flagship model with a 671 hp (500 kW) hybrid powertrain, rear-wheel drive, and a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). That sort of power and speed certainly make it a car worthy of respect. Did the driver have a lapse of respect for it or did someone rear-end it? We can’t be sure.
Listed over on CoPart and located in Syracuse, NY, this Artura appears to be finished in McLaren Orange with carbon fiber fender louvers. There’s certainly a lot of damage to both ends of the car and quite a lot of the body missing from the driver’s side. At the same time, there are a lot of parts and pieces that might be worth splashing a little cash on this sad-looking supercar.

The ten-spoke Dynamo Forged alloy wheels look like they’re still in decent condition. Finished in Dark Stealth, they’d look good on just about any McLaren regardless of paint color. The braking package could bring some big bucks on the aftermarket too as the calipers are paint-matched. Despite the extensive exterior damage, the interior still looks pretty clean too.
The sporty bucket seats look like the power-adjustable heated memory comfort units available in the Artura. They’re not as snug or aggressive as the ClubSport seats but that might actually make them more attractive on a site like eBay motors. The only downside is that they’ve got orange piping that might not work with some exterior paint colors.
As of this writing, the maximum bid is just $25,750 which is roughly one tenth of its original base price. Could the winning bidder make a big profit on it at that price? We think so, but we’ll have to wait and see the final sale price.
