The BMW M3 Touring is a car that enthusiasts have been waiting decades for and with deliveries kicking off a couple of months ago, it was only a matter of time before one was involved in a serious crash. That time has come.
This mangled M3 Touring was spotted by Motor1 up for sale through AutoScout24 after being wrecked in a crash in Switzerland and while it will need some serious repairs if it is to ever return to the road, it still has quite a hefty asking price. Indeed, the seller is looking to part ways with it for 72,999 Swiss Francs, just a touch under $80,000.

For that princely sum, someone can walk away with the keys to a low-mileage M3 Touring that has had its front fascia smashed in. It’s unclear if the performance estate was driven into some kind of stationary object or if it hit another car but whatever the case may be, its front end is completely unrecognizable. Indeed, the bumper is missing completely, the front grille is gone, and one of the headlights has popped out. Additionally, the hood has been mangled and obviously isn’t repairable.
The BMW doesn’t appear to have suffered any other visual damage but it’s entirely possible that some damage was done to the engine and potentially some of the expensive suspension components. We can also see that the airbags were deployed in the crash, including the side curtain airbags.
In all likelihood, no one will attempt to repair the car and instead, it will probably be sold for parts. The most valuable of these parts is obviously the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder so for the owner’s sake, we hope it still runs and can be used in another car.
