When you hear the term ‘barn find,’ you probably think of a classic European sports car or a valuable American muscle that’s been left to rot for decades at a time. This barn find is a little different.
The car featured here is a Chevrolet SSR that was recently uncovered in a barn in the U.S. and sold on eBay in Waterville, Ohio. It managed to fetch $49,875, an impressive sum considering that there are plenty of other used SSRs available in the U.S. for less than $20,000.

The listing fails to provide any details that reveal just why this SSR was parked unloved in a desolate garage, nor does it say for just how long it was stored. However, pictures provided of the eccentric pickup truck reveal that it was found caked in a thick coat of dirt. Apparently, it was stored in a “climate-controlled environment” and has never been touched by rain, nor has it even been washed. It is in desperate need of a wash, however.
No doubt making this SSR particularly attractive to collectors is the fact that it has been driven just 950 miles (1,528 km) since new, likely making it one of the lowest mileage examples on earth. It is also said to be free of scratches, rust, and dents and also comes with a clean Carfax report.
The Chevrolet SSR is certainly one of the most intriguing pickups ever built by General Motors and while it only survived for three years, a touch over 24,000 units are thought to have been built.
Beyond the trucks’ intriguing design, 2005 and 2006 models are especially desirable as they have a naturally-aspirated LS2 V8 that was good for 390 hp when new, allowing the truck to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.29 seconds.
