Porsche’s Sport Classic cars always gets enthusiasts’ hearts racing. Merely uttering the famous model designation immediately conjures up images of light grey paint, ducktail spoilers, and manual transmissions in the minds of gearheads everywhere, and it truly is a proper embodiment of what the 911 can be in its purest form.
Last year, following the success of the original 997 Sport Classic but predating the new 992 version, Porsche decided to capitalize on Sport Classic fever by making a very special one-off. Called the Classic Club Coupe, the one-of-one factory restomod is essentially the 996 Sport Classic Porsche never built, featuring unique styling, an engine from the 911 GT3 of the time, and of course, a manual transmission. And now, the one and only example can be yours.

Up for sale on Broad Arrow Auctions, no price estimate is listed for the car, though we can guarantee it will be anything but cheap given its rarity and desirability. Starting life as a run-down 1999 911 Carrera, the car was brought by the Porsche Club of America to Porsche Classic in Germany to undergo a full restoration. It was there that it received the beating 3.6L heart of a 996.2 GT3, making a respectable 381 hp (386 PS / 284 kW) and 284 lb-ft (385 Nm) of torque, as well as GT3 brakes and suspension to match. And as mentioned before, that engine is mated to a manual transmission, more specifically, the six-speed unit from a GT3.

To complete the Sport Classic look, Porsche also outfitted the car with Fuchs wheels, GT3 bumpers and side skirts, a custom ducktail spoiler, a double bubble roof, and a Sport Grey Metallic paint job offset by Sport Grey Light and Club Blau racing graphics. Inside, the car features a perforated Alcantara headliner, blue contrast stitching, as well as seats and door panels patterned in Porsche’s famous houndstooth pattern. Rounding off the changes is the most modern addition of all, a Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There’s no denying that this Classic Club Coupe is an incredibly special car that would undoubtedly bring immense joy to whoever gets the pleasure of owning it. But seeing as the price estimate is only available upon request, we’d like to know: how much would you pay for a vehicle like this? Leave us your thoughts in the comments.
