Zeekr has taken the wraps off its third production model, revealing the entirety of its exterior design and announcing its name. The Zeekr X is a fully electric compact crossover set to join the 001 shooting brake and 009 minivan in the automaker’s lineup.
The reveal comes only a few days after the first teasers of the model which is now free of any camouflage. The exterior, penned by the brand’s design studio in Gothenburg, proposes an evolution of Zeekr’s Krypton styling language introducing modern surfacing and high-tech details.

At the front, the crossover got the split headlight treatment with a grille-less look, a sculpted but rather short bonnet, and slim intakes on the tall bumper. The profile is characterized by the lack of door handles, the diagonal character line that stretches on the rear windows, and the glossy-black accents on the wheel arches, mirrors, and roof.
The tail has elongated LED taillights separated by the illuminated Zeekr lettering, lots of black cladding on the rear bumper, and a narrow rear windshield due to the sloping rear part of the roof with the integrated spoiler.
The Zeekr X measures 4,450 mm (175.2 inches) long, 1,836 mm (72.3 inches) wide, and 1,572 mm (61.9 inches) tall, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm (108.3 inches). This makes it 180 mm (7.1 inches) longer than the Smart #1 which has the exact same wheelbase. Both models are based on Geely’s SEA modular platform which will be shared with the upcoming Volvo EX30. Longer versions of the same architecture are used by the larger Zeekr 001 and 009.
The Geely-owned brand didn’t reveal the technical specifications of the EV but said it will accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) “within 4 seconds”. This figure sounds similar to the 3.9 seconds of the mechanically-related smart #1 Brabus which comes fitted with dual electric motors producing a combined 422 hp (315 kW / 428 PS). Chances are that Zeekr will also offer a single-motor variant with 264 hp (200 kW / 272 PS). The Smart #1 has a 66 kWh battery but we don’t know whether the Zeekr X will use a larger capacity battery pack for a longer range.
The market launch of the Zeekr X in China is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023. In the near future, the model will also be offered in Europe, where the electric compact crossover/SUV segment is booming. European availability will reportedly start from northern countries including Norway and Sweden. Zeekr wants to double its sales volume to 140,000 vehicles this year but doesn’t plan on entering the US market.
