Alpine is tirelessly working on its EV-only future but that doesn’t mean it has forgotten the current A110. The mid-engined sportscar just got yet another special edition called San Remo 73, which will be limited to 200 units. The model celebrates 50 years since the original Alpine A110’s victory in Sanremo which sealed the manufacturer’s first and only WRC title.

The A110 San Remo 73 is a follow-up to the A110 Tour de Corse 75 from last year. Both special editions honor important races from Alpine’s motorsport heritage, with the numerical part of the name referencing the year.

The exterior of this anniversary special combines a Caddy Blue shade with black pillars and a striking carbon roof finished in red. The black and white graphics on the bonnet, doors, and rear bumper feature red “San Remo 73” lettering, while all Alpine emblems are black. The finishing touch is the white rally-inspired 18-inch Grand Prix alloy wheels and the anthracite Brembo brake calipers.

The interior features microfiber upholstery with grey stitching. The one-piece bucket seats by Sabelt Racing have “World Champion 73” embroidery and are compatible with six-point racing harnesses. The racing theme continues on the door cards with black and white stripes, the aluminum passenger footrest, sport pedals, and special floor mats.

Despite the motorsport-inspired looks, standard equipment is pretty generous including front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, a Focal Audio system, and more. Of course, a numbered plaque couldn’t be missing from a limited production model like this, allowing the owner some bragging rights.

The turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is carried over from the rest of the A110 range, producing the same 296 hp (221 kW / 300 PS) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. The San Remo isn’t as lightweight and track-focused as the hardcore A110 R but it still gets a high-performance brake system and an active sports exhaust.

Order books for the Alpine A110 San Remo 73 open on March 17 in France, where it is available at a price of €89,000 ($94,172). For history, Alpine dominated the 1973 WRC season, with the A110 Berlinette winning six races that year.
