A few years ago, Audi introduced an eye-catching RS e-tron GT prototype with a distinctive wrap. While most people likely forgot about it, the model is now spawning a limited edition known as project_513/2.
Created by Audi of America and Audi exclusive, the 2023 RS e-tron GT project_513/2 is a mouthful but the automaker says its exclusivity is “underlined by leveraging the internal code name as a special edition.”
The model will be offered exclusively in the United States and it features a head-turning exterior with red accents and an “e-tron camouflage script.” The car is also the first production Audi to have red rings front and rear.

The changes don’t end there as the special edition rides on exclusive 21-inch concave wheels that have a black finish. They’re contrasted by a carbon ceramic braking system with red calipers.
Buyers will also find a carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber mirror caps, and carbon fiber door inlays. Rounding out the highlights are HD Matrix-design headlights with laser light technology and “project_513/2” etching on the rear quarter glass.
The bold styling continues in the cabin with red painted air vents as well as red accents on the steering wheel, door panels, and floor mats. They’re joined by two-tone Nappa leather sport seats and an armrest with “project_513/2” embossing.
That’s only part of what makes the cabin special as the carbon fiber trim has camouflage graphics that echo those found outside. Audi says the graphics use an “innovative ‘partial matting’ patented process, which is just a few thousandths of a millimeter deep, all primarily created by hand.”
Buyers will also find a Dinamica headliner, illuminated carbon fiber door sill plates, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with “project_513/2” graphics.
Like the standard model, the special edition has a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that develops a combined output of 637 hp (475 kW / 646 PS) in boost mode. This enables the car to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The special edition should also have a 93.4 kWh battery pack that allows for an EPA range of 232 miles (373 km/h).
Speaking of performance, the special edition comes equipped with power steering plus and rear wheel steering. The latter enables the rear wheels to turn up to 2.8 degrees for improved maneuverability at low speeds and increased stability at high speeds.
Production will be limited to 75 units and pricing starts at $179,900 excluding a $1,495 destination charge. That’s a big leap from the RS e-tron GT’s base price of $143,900 but the special edition effectively comes equipped with the carbon performance package, ceramic brakes package, and full leather interior package. These alone add $18,900 to the sticker price of the standard model, so the increase isn’t as bad as it seems.
To cushion the blow even further, buyers will receive special edition VIN art. Audi says the “VIN art portraits are printed on a thin aluminum plate with a high-gloss surface and are derived from the Vehicle Identification Number – exhibiting a detailed art print expression of the customer’s vehicle in high-resolution for display.”
