Leprechauns are indeed scarier than Demons as Dodge has all but confirmed SRT Demon beating performance for the final Challenger Last Call special edition.
As you can see in the Trip Wire teaser, our fearless leprechaun is preparing for the car’s big debut in Las Vegas and he’s flying in by helicopter. Once over the city, the leprechaun jumps out, then free falls until he hits 140 mph (225 km/h) and gets stuck there.
This upsets him, so he puts more effort into it and eventually goes much faster. The numbers on the ‘watch’ are hard to read, but don’t get your hopes up for a 700+ mph (1,127 km/h) Challenger that breaks the sound barrier.

That being said, the 140 mph (225 km/h) figure is pretty telling. As you may recall, the Challenger SRT Demon had a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 developing up to 840 hp (626 kW / 851 PS) and 770 lb-ft (1,042 Nm) of torque. This enabled the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 2.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph (225 km/h).
This combined with previous teasers suggests the special edition could run the quarter mile in 8.9996 seconds at more than 140 mph (225 km/h). Dodge has also hinted at the possibility of a 215 mph (346 km/h) top speed, although nothing is official at this point.
However, the wait is almost over as the Last Call special edition will be unveiled at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 20th . It’s a last hurrah for the current Challenger as the model will embrace an electrified future.
