Ford is dropping the Transit Connect in North America, but the company is cranking out vans for every conceivable customer in Europe. The end result is a Russian nesting doll of vans, which are similarly named and hard to tell apart at first glance.
However, spy photographers have snapped new pictures of the upcoming Tourneo Courier. For those of you who don’t have a Ford decoder ring, it’s an entry-level passenger van that will be sold alongside the Transit Courier, Transit Custom, and Tourneo Custom.
Besides sporting headlights that look like leftovers from the first-generation Edge, the Tourneo Courier has a seven bar grille with a prominent Ford logo. We can also see a rounded front bumper with vertical air curtains.

Continuing further back, there’s pronounced front fenders and an edgy shoulder line. They’re joined by an angular greenhouse, a flat roof, and sliding rear doors. We can also see a relatively plain rear end with slender taillights.
The straightforward styling will continue in the cabin as previous spy photos have shown a minimalist interior with a digital instrument cluster and a small infotainment system. They’ll be joined by a ‘clean’ dash that only sports a handful of buttons and a physical volume controller.
The van is expected to ride on the same platform that underpins the Puma and it will likely share powertrains with the model. This means we can expect a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine that develops 123 hp (92 kW / 125 PS). The Puma also offers a 1.5-liter diesel in certain markets and it would be a natural fit for the van. Moreover, Ford has confirmed plans for an electric variant, so there shouldn’t be a shortage of powertrain options.
