They say not to drive a bright red sports car unless you want to be noticed, but we’d imagine the owner of this bright red Corvette wished he could’ve been noticed a bit more. The reason for that, first reported by CorvetteForum, is because he had a Honda Pilot fully back up onto his car.
The 2-ton Honda was able to use the Corvette’s sloped nose as a ramp, and once it was up there, it wreaked absolute havoc. The entire front end was crushed under the weight of the SUV, likely irreparably damaging the doors and suspension as well. The car’s hood was also completely ripped off, being launched with so much force that it landed at the trunk. To make matter worse, the pop-up headlights were open upon impact, and they too were ripped off their mounting points.

What’s even scarier to think about is the fact that the Corvette‘s driver was actually in the car when the incident occurred, and he recounts being able to see the Pilot’s tires crush through the front windshield as the SUV mounted his car. Thankfully, he was able to employ a bit of quick thinking and exit through the passenger door, and that allowed him to escape with seemingly no injuries. Figuring something as bizarre as this was likely an accident, he immediately went to go check on the Honda driver.

It turns out the driver of the Pilot was an elderly man who reportedly confused the Corvette with the curb. He was also uninjured, but in his confusion, he still thought he was on the curb, and the Corvette driver had to inform him that he was in fact on top of another car. Why the Honda driver didn’t think to stop reversing even after hitting the “curb” is unknown, but it’s worth noting that he supposedly didn’t even know his license was suspended. Regardless, the damage speaks for itself, and the Honda escaped nearly unscathed while the Corvette was completely destroyed.
