John Cena may have made the successful leap from professional wrestler to Hollywood star but that doesn’t mean he now simply drives high-end exotics and luxurious SUVs like so many of his peers. Instead, his daily driver is a Honda.
During a recent appearance on a podcast hosted by comedian and actor Andrew Santino, Cena revealed that while he owns some very nice cars, including a Lamborghini Countach, it is the Honda Civic Type R that he drives most frequently.
“My daily driver is a Civic Type R,” he revealed. It’s got tech, it’s manual, reliable. It’s got seats in the back. I can actually pick people up (in it.) If you’ve got a purse in a Countach, you’re screwed.” Cena also added that at 145 mph, “it’s stable.”

By comparison, owning a living with a car like the Countach is much more of a challenge, Cena added.

“They’re (a Countach) a little bit rough around the edges. The clutch is a dog fight, and it’s really tough to get those things running right like they’re always in the shop. It’s always leaking some sort of fluid somewhere.”
Cena has done some voiceover work for Honda over the past year so it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that he drives the brand’s beloved hot hatch. While the actor doesn’t seem to have posted any images of the car on his social media channels, he tells Santino that it is a 2020 model. Tire Meets Road understands that it is a striking example bathed in Boost Blue with red accents and black wheels.
