The Metaverse hasn’t taken off as expected but some automakers are doing their best to take part in it for promotional purposes. Lancia is the latest to join the game at the 2023 Metaverse Fashion Week, creating a virtual showroom with the Ypsilon and the new concept car which remains covered by a veil.
Setting aside the 3D model of the aging Ypsilon that has been around largely unchanged since 2011, the concept is the main point of interest in this marketing stunt. Unfortunately, the black Lancia-branded veil is not giving away any design details but at least we can see the three-box silhouette of the mysterious concept.

At this point, the model looks more like a Fulvia coupe than a Stratos sportscar, unlike the previous teaser which showed a portion of its rear end. Thankfully, all of our questions will be answered soon, as the Lancia concept will be fully unveiled on April 15 at the “Emozione Pu+Ra” event. We expect it to represent an evolution of the Pu+Ra sculpture, showing the design language that will be implemented in the Ypsilon supermini, the Aurelia crossover, and the Delta hatchback. As for the powertrain, we would be surprised if it doesn’t come out as fully electric.
Lancia‘s first virtual showroom is inspired by the actual dealership in Via Gattamelata, Milan, Italy, which has already been updated with the automaker’s new logo and new corporate identity. The company hopes to update all of its dealers before the launch of the all-new Lancia Ypsilon in the first half of 2024, when they will include 70 sales points in 70 major European cities.
The 2023 Metaverse Fashion Week will take place from March 28 to 31 as a virtual-only event. Users will be able to visit with their avatars and check out the different rooms.
