Lia Block, the daughter of the dearly departed Ken Block, will race in a Subaru BRZ finished in a special tribute livery inspired by her father. The white, gray, and gold livery is inspired by the first racing livery that the famed driver ever campaigned under nearly 20 years ago.
“This year is going to be a tough one. But I’m happy to be back doing what my dad loved and what I still love,” Block wrote in an Instagram post. “The snow-camo and gold design is an homage to my dad’s very first livery he created back in 2005.”
Block will be campaigning a Subaru BRZ in the American Rally Association Championship for the 2023 racing season. The young driver has seven ARA starts to her name, reports Road & Track, but this will be her first year in a RWD car, having previously raced a FWD Ford Fiesta – a change she is excited about.

“Excited to also be switching to this RWD Subaru BRZ this year to race the ARA Championship,” Block wrote. “I love how [the livery] looks on this BRZ.”
The announcement garnered warm replies from others in Ken Block‘s circle, such as skateboarder Bucky Lasek and Brian Scotto, a frequent collaborator with the elder Block.
“This Livery will always be extra special to me as I first met your mom and dad on @gumball3000 traveling in the Snow Camo STI together,” Scotto wrote. “Love seeing you rock it now! Your dad would be so proud.”
In addition to Block’s daughter, fellow Gymkhana driver Travis Pastrana also sported a snow-camo tribute livery in January for a Nitro Rallycross race in Quebec. Ford, meanwhile, added a Ken Block tribute sticker to every one of its race vehicles to start the 2023 racing season.
Ken Block passed away on January 2, 2023, in a snowmobiling accident in Utah while on holiday with his family.
