The Polestar 2 BST Edition is back for 2023 with an additional production batch of 230 units for Europe and North America, offering new options for the color, graphics, and interior materials while retaining the same performance-focused EV powertrain and chassis setup.

The BST edition 230 looks exactly like the BST edition 270 from last year with the exception of the different colors and the grille insert sourced from the recently facelifted Polestar 2. Speaking of the grille, Polestar notes: “We will retrofit the SmartZone, which can be seen in pictures of the BST edition 230, to your vehicle once it has been approved. On request, we will be happy to hand you over the originally installed front grille at no extra charge before the handover”.

More importantly, the exterior of the BST can now be painted in the new green Nebula shade, or in the more stealthy-looking Space black. In both cases, the matte black body stripe graphic with the number 2 on the bonnet is optional. The black BST-exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels come standard, as with the gold-painted brake calipers.

Inside, Polestar added MicroSuede textile inserts for the seats and the steering wheel, which are made from partly recycled Nubuck leather. Other than that, the gold seatbelts make a great contrast with the familiar black-themed cabin. The model comes standard with the Plus package bringing features like the panoramic glass roof and the Harman Kardon premium audio system, as well as the Pilot package with all the available safety hardware and software (Pilot Assist, pixel LED headlights, four 360-degree cameras, etc).

The Polestar 2 BST edition 230 shares the same underpinnings and performance credentials as the Polestar 2 BST edition 270 from last year. This means that the dual electric motors still make 470 hp (350 kW / 476 PS) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque, allowing a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 km/h (127 mph). Interestingly, the automaker fitted the performance flagship with the old 78 kWh battery instead of the newer 82 kWh unit introduced by the updated Polestar 2, which means that the EV range is the same 460 km (286 miles) as before.

Predictably, the EV retains the BST-specific suspension setup which is lowered by 25 mm (1 inch) and features Öhlins 2-way adjustable dampers, 20% stiffer springs, and a front strut bar. The 21-inch alloy wheels are shod in bespoke 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero rubber which was developed exclusively for BST models.

All 230 units of the Polestar 2 BST edition 230 are available to order, exclusively for European and North American customers, while first deliveries are expected in the third quarter of the year. In Germany, the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 costs €81,000 ($87,043), or €82,000 ($88,106) if you want it with the optional matte black graphics.
