Porsche has discontinued three of its most impressive sports cars, dropping the Boxster 718 T, the Boxster Spyder, and the Cayman GT4.
Word of the trio of high-performance models being dropped from the company’s range first surfaced on Rennlist and has since been confirmed by Porsche. While it’s sad to see them go, there are still plenty of impressive Cayman and Boxster models for customers to choose from, including the Cayman S, GTS 4.0, Boxster S, Boxster GTS 4.0, and the flagship Cayman GT4 RS.
Some changes have been made to the Boxster and Cayman range for the 2024 model year. For example, the Cayman S is now equipped with the same 19-inch wheels as the Boxster S, the CD/DVD player will be discontinued, and Carrara White Metallic, Python Green, and Aventurine Green Metallic are no longer available. Two leather options have also been axed.

Elsewhere, the German marque has confirmed to dealers that supplies of Bose audio systems are under pressure and remain unavailable when added through a package but can be ordered separately. The PCCB brake pads of the 718 GT4 RS have also been “updated and optimized” while the fire extinguisher option has been changed from steel to aluminum.
Unfortunately for shoppers, prices have jumped in the U.S. Indeed, the entry-level Cayman and Boxster increased from $63,400 and $65,500 respectively to $68,300 and $70,400. Prices of the Cayman S and Boxster S have spiked from $75,400 and $77,500 to $80,300 and $82,400, while the Cayman GTS 4.0 and Boxster GTS 4.0 now start at $95,200 and $97,300 respectively, despite previously being available for $90,300 and $92,400. The biggest price hike has been made to the Cayman GT4 RS with its MSRP rising from $149,100 to $162,000. All of these prices exclude a $1,650 destination charge.
