The Tesla Cybertruck is the most anticipated electric car for Reddit users, a new study has revealed.
The study from John Clark Motor Group analyzed the number of Reddit posts about particular EVs and recorded the average number of upvotes that these posts received. The Cybertruck proved to be the most popular, attracting an average of 95.12 upvotes per post.
This news shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. Not only have order books for the Cybertruck apparently swollen to over 1 million, but Tesla is hugely popular on social media among the younger generation which just so happens to dominate Reddit. Indeed, the average age of a Reddit user is just 23. The average age of a Tesla owner, by the way, is over 50.

Coming in second place was the DeLorean Alpha5 with an average of 85.26 upvotes per post. This one does come as a bit of a surprise. Not only has the Alpha5 been showcased solely as a concept but it comes from an all-new car manufacturer with no proven track record. There remains a big question mark about whether it will ever see the light of day as a result.
In third place is the Audi A6 e-tron with 63.52 average upvotes per post, narrowly edging out the Hyundai Ioniq 6 with 61.89 average upvotes per post. Other cars in the top 10 include the Lucid Air Sapphire, Lotus Eletre, Renault Scenic, VW ID.7, and the Bentley Batur. Rounding out the list is the Polestar 3, Nio ET5, Volvo C40, VW ID.3, and VW ID. Buzz.
There were some compelling EVs that failed to make the list entirely. For example, the Polestar 4 failed to make the cut, although that’s largely due to the fact that it hasn’t been revealed yet so not many people know about it. Other cars not included were the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and the Rolls-Royce Spectre.
