No less than 3,470 Tesla Model Ys are being recalled in the United States because of an issue with certain second-row seat backs.

A recall notice reveals that the second-row driver-side seat back frame and the second-row passenger-side seat back frame are each secured to the lower seat frame with 4 bolts per seat back. However, one or more of these bolts may not have been torqued to specifications.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notes that if the bolts are not torqued to specification, the seat belt may not perform as designed in a collision, potentially increasing the risk of injury to those sitting in the second row.
