The 2023 Mercedes-AMG C43 is now arriving at U.S. dealerships and the model starts at $59,900 before a $1,150 destination and delivery fee.

The entry-level C43 Premium makes its performance known through a sportier design that features a Panamericana grille and 18-inch AMG wheels. They’re joined by aggressive bumpers and LED lighting units.

Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch infotainment system. Other highlights include MB-Tex/Microfiber heated sport seats, wood trim, and stainless steel pedals. The model also has a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, a sunroof, illuminated door sill plates, and a 64-color ambient lighting system.

Buyers will also find a host of driver assistance systems including Pre-Safe, Pre-Safe Sound, and Active Brake Assist. They’re joined by Blind Spot Assist with Exit Warning Assist, Parktronic with Active Parking Assist, a Surround View System, and Car-to-X communications technology.

A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine resides under the hood, where it produces 402 hp (300 kW / 408 PS) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to a standard all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.6 seconds.

Sticking with the performance theme, the C43 has a sport suspension with AMG Ride Control. The sedan also comes equipped with an AMG sport braking system that features 14.6 inch (371 mm) perforated front discs that are grabbed by silver-painted four-piston calipers. They’re joined by 12.6 inch (320 mm) discs out back as well as an active rear-wheel steering system.

Customers looking for more can upgrade to the Pinnacle trim, which costs $62,700 before the destination charge is factored in.  The extra $2,800 sees the car equipped with a head-up display, a Burmester premium audio system, and a wireless smartphone charger. Customers will also find “enhanced ambient lighting” and GPS navigation with an augmented reality function.
