SsangYong may have officially changed its name to KG Mobility, but that hasn’t been reflected yet in the UK where it continues to use the old name even in new products such as the updated 2023 Musso range which gains a new Saracen+ variant that proudly boasts of offering “12 inches more” space than other models.
Other variants updated for the 2023 calendar year include the Musso EX, Musso Rebel, and Musso Saracen. The entry-level model now features a short-bed design and comes equipped with new 17-inch alloy wheels, a DAB audio/Bluetooth system, six airbags, electric windows, remote central locking, and a manual transmission as standard.
SsangYong’s Musso Rebel is based on the EX and includes additional features such as roof rails, an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Google Play, a reversing camera, faux leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, side steps, LED fog lights, and special Rebel graphics. This variant is only available with an automatic transmission.

Then we get to the updated Saracen and the new Saracen+ pickups. The first model comes outfitted with 18-inch black alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats, power adjustable driver and front passenger seats, heated rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 9.2-inch infotainment screen, and cruise control. It also benefits from LED daytime running lights and some extra safety features like Blind Spot Detection and Lane Change Assist.
Underpinning the SsangYong Musso Saracen+ is the same chassis and platform as the regular double-cab variants but the bed has grown by 12 inches (304.8 mm), dramatically increasing carrying capacity. The tailgate is also lined with plastic and this model comes standard with black on the wing mirrors, beltline and tailgate. It also has distinctive 18-inch black alloy wheels with 255/60 tires.
All versions of the SsangYong Musso are fitted with the same 2.2-liter inline-four diesel rated at 199 hp at 3,800 rpm and 325 lb-ft (441 Nm) of torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. The automaker says it is the only truck in the UK that can legally tow 3.5-tonnes and carry more than 1-tonne at the same time.
