Chevrolet will unveil the all-new 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison on May 31 and based on these images released by the brand, it is shaping up to be quite the performer.
A series of comprehensive modifications will make the new Colorado ZR2 Bison immediately stand out from all other variants. We can see that the ride height has been lifted substantially from the regular Colorado and that the off-road-focused pickup truck sits on a new set of wheels wrapped in what appear to be 35-inch tires.
These photos also reveal that the ZR2 Bison will be built with a new front clip with bright red tow hooks and a skid plate. While not visible in these photos, CarScoops understands that new suspension components will come standard and play an important role in boosting the truck’s abilities. A new hood is also visible, as is a large Chevrolet badge with red accents on the grille.

A host of other modifications are expected, even though they are not visible in these photos. For example, there should be reinforced underbody protection as well as various changes to the rear bumper.
Powering the new Colorado ZR2 Bison will probably be the same 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as other Colorado models. This engine is good for 310 hp and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) of torque and while those figures are well short of the Ford Ranger Raptor, they should still result in a very solid performer.
The arrival of the new ZR2 Bison will come just six months after the latest-generation Colorado was introduced. The truck is now only available in Crew Cab configuration and the entry-level ‘WT’ model is available from $30,695 with a 237 hp version of the aforementioned 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. Sitting at the top of the current range is the ZR2 4WD with an MSRP of $48,295.
