The 2025 Ram 1500 REV made a splash during the Super Bowl, but now we’re learning the nitty-gritty details as the truck has been unveiled at the New York Auto Show.
Since we’ve already seen what it looks like, we’ll skip right to specifications and they certainly don’t disappoint as the truck comes standard with a truly massive 168 kWh battery pack. This promises to deliver a range of up to 350 miles (563 km).
That bests both the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T, which max out at 320 miles (515 km) and 328 miles, respectively. However, it falls short of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, which are both slated to have a range in excess of 400 miles (644 km).

To deal with them, Ram is offering an even bigger 229 kWh battery pack that annihilates the competition with an estimated range of up to 500 miles (805 km). That’s an insane figure and among the best offered by any electric vehicle.
Besides giving the truck some serious bragging rights, the 229 kWh battery pack should enable the Ram 1500 REV to be a ‘legitimate’ tow vehicle. As you’re undoubtedly aware, towing takes a significant toll on electric vehicles and this means the range can easily be cut in half. That being said, half of 500 miles (805 km) is 250 miles (402 km) and that would still be pretty darn good.
If 500 miles (805 km) isn’t enough, a Ram 1500 REV XR will follow with a “class-shattering range.” The company didn’t elaborate, but it’s presumably the range-extended variant.
A Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive System With 654 HP

While the Ram 1500 REV can go the distance, it won’t be the fastest or most powerful truck on the market. However, it’s no slouch as it will feature 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) electric motors front and rear.
The electric drive modules consist of a motor, gearbox, and inverter. However, that’s not all as the front EDM has an automatic wheel-end disconnect that allows the front wheels to spin freely in certain conditions to maximize efficiency. The rear unit also incorporates a few tricks including an available electronic-locking rear differential.
In terms of performance, we can expect a combined output of 654 hp (448 kW / 663 PS) and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm) of torque. This will enable the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in a mere 4.4 seconds. Those are some insane figures and it easily beats everything in the Ram lineup besides the bonkers TRX, which has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 developing 702 hp (523 kW / 712 PS) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque.
That being said, the Ram 1500 REV is outgunned by range-topping versions of the Silverado and Sierra EV. Both are slated to have a combined output of 754 hp (562 kW / 764 PS) and 785 lb-ft (1,063 Nm) of torque, which will allow them to accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds. There’s also the GMC Hummer EV, which offers up to 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS) and can hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in around three seconds.
Putting the competition aside, the Ram 1500 REV has an 800-volt architecture and a 350 kW DC fast charging capability. This will enable the truck to get up to 110 miles (177 km) of range in as little as 10 minutes. Ram didn’t mention any other charging specs but, given the battery capacities, expect lengthy recharging times at home.
On the topic of charging, the truck has vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid capabilities. This means it can power your home in an emergency and charge other EVs in a pinch. It can also interface with the electrical grid and send power to utility companies. The latter capability means the truck could potentially be charged when rates are low, and then sell that energy back to the power company when rates are higher and there’s more demand on the grid.
The truck can also be used as a battery when camping, tailgating, or working. In particular, the onboard power panel in the bed can provide up to 7.2 kW of juice to power everything from lights to TVs. Customers can also get an optional frunk onboard power panel that provides up to 3.6 kW.
A Body-On-Frame EV That Can Tow Up To 14,000 Pounds

If you think unibody trucks are weak sauce, you’re in luck as the Ram 1500 REV rides on the all-new STLA Frame architecture. As the name suggests, it features body-on-frame construction and was “designed specifically for full-size electric vehicles.”
The platform features high-strength steel and “advanced materials,” which enable it to be “lightweight yet stiff and durable.” Ram went on to say the architecture is “wider in the middle to efficiently incorporate the battery pack, while still utilizing protection afforded by the frame rails.”
This focus on strength enables the truck to have a towing capacity of up to 14,000 lbs (6,350 kg) and a payload capacity of up to 2,700 lbs (1,225 kg). Those are some impressive numbers and the truck beats the GMC Sierra EV’s tow rating by 4,500 lbs (2,041 kg) while also besting its payload capacity by more than double. It also beats the F-150 Lightning, which has a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg).
Speaking of capabilities, Ram is promising “class-leading ride and handling.” As part of this effort, the truck has a multi-link independent rear suspension and a “segment-exclusive, active-level four-corner air suspension with adaptive damping.”
The air suspension will offer five different settings known as Entry/Exit, Aero, Normal, Off-Road 1, and Off-Road 2. Ram didn’t go into specifics, but the first two settings will likely lower the ride height for improved aerodynamics as well as easier entry and egress. Likewise, the latter two modes should increase the ride height for improved off-road capability. There’s no word on how much travel the suspension will have, but Ram said the truck will be able to ford up to 24 inches (610 mm) of water.
Besides the air suspension, the truck will offer semi-autonomous driving technology. Details are limited, but Ram said we can expect ParkSense Automated Parking as well as Active Driving Assist. The latter combines adaptive cruise control with lane centering to allow for hands-free driving. Ram also said the system uses “multiple sensors, including radars and cameras to dictate appropriate roads for the technology.”
New Tungsten Trim Raises The Bar On Luxury
The Ram 1500 raised the bar for luxury pickups and the company is trying to repeat that success with the electric variant. As part of this effort, the model has “authentic, premium materials” such as carbon fiber, metal, and leather.
That being said, the truck is a high-tech affair that offers a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch front passenger display. The latter enables the front passenger to act as a co-pilot as it shows navigation information and exterior camera views. The display also sports an HDMI input, which enables it to act as an entertainment device. However, it appears to lack support for streaming video and this feels like an oversight.
Sticking with the tech theme, the truck can be equipped with a digital rearview mirror and a 10-inch head-up display. The model also has digital key technology and a standard 12-inch infotainment system with a split-screen capability.
Putting screens aside, the truck sports a rotary shifter and regen buttons that allow drivers to switch between Normal and One Pedal Driving modes. We can also see a “trailer steering knob” and a wireless smartphone charger that can replenish two phones at once.
We’ll learn more details closer to launch, but Ram confirmed the truck will be offered in five different trims including Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Limited, and Tungsten. The latter is all-new and “raises the no-compromise benchmark again for upscale pickup trucks.”
Ram didn’t say much about it, but the Tungsten will have an “ultra-premium” 23-speaker Klipsch audio system. We can also see two-tone quilted leather seats with contrast stitching as well as heating and ventilation, front and rear. They’re joined by carbon fiber trim and a Tungsten badge on the center console that wears the truck’s VIN.
The Most Aerodynamic Full-Size Electric Truck
While the truck bears little resemblance to the Revolution concept, it features an aerodynamically optimized front end with “tuning fork” LED headlights and an illuminated “Ram” badge. They’re joined by body-color components, unique taillights, and a power tailgate on the range-topping Tungsten trim.
Ram didn’t go into many specifics, but said the model is the “segment’s most slippery truck with an estimated .340 coefficient of drag.” The truck also sports 20- or 22-inch wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion all-season tires.
Other highlights include a powered frunk, which has a best-in-class storage capacity of 15 cubic feet (425 liters). They’re joined by RamBox storage compartments, which are lockable and weatherproof.
All of this adds up to one impressive truck and it will arrive at dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2024.
