It’s hard to keep count of the number of times we’ve seen a Ford Mustang become the butt of jokes due to overzealous drivers. While it’s unfair to paint all Mustang owners with the same brush, especially considering that the iconic pony car is the world’s best-selling sports car for a decade, we can’t say we’re surprised anymore when we stumble across yet another embarrassing mistake.
This latest incident that was shared on Reddit was filmed somewhere in North America and shows just how quickly things can go south if you decided to switch off the Mustang’s traction control and don’t know how to control a powerful muscle car.

In the video, we can see the driver of the dark red Mustang pulling out of a parking lot and immediately jumping on the throttle, kicking out the rear of the car. For a split second, the driver manages to hold the slide but uses too much opposite lock to do so. The Mustang then kicks to the left and with very little time to react, the driver can do nothing to avoid slamming into the front of a Chevrolet SUV that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The impact was strong enough to set off the Mustang’s airbags and cause significant damage to the front end. While we aren’t provided with a great look at the fascia, we can see that the hood has been bent upwards and that the car immediately started to leak fluids. The front of the SUV was also seriously damaged by the crash.
Fortunately, it appears that both the driver and passenger of the Mustang escaped without serious injury. The driver of the SUV also seems to have avoided injury.
