Just a few months after a red Lexus LFA was sold by RM Sotheby’s for $675,000, another LFA painted in the same delicious shade has found its way onto the used car market. This example has even fewer miles under its belt.
Lexus famously built just 500 units of the LFA and the example you see before you is number 173. It remained under the possession of the first owner until 2022, has been driven just 3,900 miles (6,276 km) since new, and is available through Bring a Trailer. It has a clean Arizona title and a clean Carfax report and while we’re sure the bright red paint may be a little too flashy for some shoppers, we happen to think it works brilliantly with the car.
The LFA is held in high regard across the industry for a multitude of reasons, most notably its engine. Taking the form of a naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V10 built in collaboration with Yamaha, the engine produces one of the finest symphonies of any production car. With 552 hp and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque, it also delivers plenty of performance, even for a vehicle that is now more than a decade old. The Aisin six-speed single-clutch transmission routing power through the rear wheels is also an absolute gem.

While the exterior of the car is bathed in red paint, the interior is a little less dramatic. The seats, door panels, and dashboard are trimmed in black leather but adding some color is red contrast stitching and red seat backs to match the exterior. Other highlights of the interior include the Mark Levinson 12-speaker sound system, the metallic trim, and Bluetooth connectivity. However, we guess that any prospective owner might want to listen to the glorious soundtrack of the V10 instead of music.
