Those living in Arizona had better be on their best behavior after the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office picked up the keys to their new cruiser, taking the form of a 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye.
Before you get too worried, however, it’s important to point out that the Challenger won’t actually be used by police to chase criminals and instead, it has been assigned to the local Community Outreach Unit. It was purchased via a grant for drug education, outreach, and various drug enforcement activities that has a particular focus on educating kids at community events, schools, and career fairs about the dangers of drug use.
The paintwork of the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye immediately makes it stand out from any other on the road. The paint color is known as ‘F8’ green and was inspired by the Sheriff’s Office colors. Contrasting the green paint are graphics with a tan finish to match the uniform that local officers wear. The graphics include large ‘Sheriff’ logos on the doors as well as on the rear bumper. Found below the tailgate spoiler is a small graphic reading ‘Seek Opportunities – Not Drugs.’
“This is another step we are taking as a starter for positive communication between our communities and law enforcement,” Mark. J Dannels from the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said. “This project was an innovative effort to share what we do in law enforcement, to get kids engaged, and bring attention to the “cool” side of the Sheriff’s Office.”

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is a remarkable performer driven by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 pumping out 797 hp and 707 lb-ft (959 Nm) of torque. It is able to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.4 seconds and run down the quarter-mile in 10.8 seconds. Given enough room, it won’t stop accelerating until it hits 203 mph (326 km/h).
