Chinese automaker Changan has just taken off the wraps to its latest creation, this time taking the form of a sleek sedan that will serve as a rival to the Volkswagen ID.7.

Images published by China’s patent office show that the new electrified sedan, dubbed the Qiyuan A07, is quite the looker and adopts an attractive yet minimalist design. Your attention may immediately be drawn to the front end where the company’s designers have crafted sleek LED headlights that are joined seamlessly with a light bar. The front end also sports a blacked-out lower grille and upright air intakes.

The simple and suave design continues along the sides where you will no doubt notice the door handles that sit flush with the bodywork, the black accent running along the base of the doors, and the curved creases that give the sedan some added dynamism.

These photos also show the rear of the car. It includes a single LED light bar stretching across the entire rear of the fascia as well as an attractive lip spoiler neatly incorporated into the decklid. According to the spec sheet, the Qiyuan A07 is 4,905 mm (193 inches) long, 1,910 mm (75.2 inches) wide, and sits 1,480 mm (582 inches) tall with a 2,900 mm (114 inch) wheelbase. Customers will be offered the choice between 18-inch and 19-inch wheels.

Changan will sell the A07 in both hybrid and EV guises. The internal combustion-powered model sports a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine pumping out 95 hp working alongside a 215 hp electric motor while the all-electric version rocks a motor with 258 hp.

Further details about the car, such as pricing and availability, are not yet known but we should learn more once Changan officially unveils the new car.
