Daimler Truck has announced plans to launch a new line of electric vehicles under the Rizon brand in the United States.

Set to debut at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Anaheim, California next month, the Rizon brand aims to offer “customer-focused zero-emission trucks and mobility solutions.” The company went on to say they envision forming a partnership with truck drivers and fleet owners as they’ll be “comprehensively supported” and can be advised about AC and DC charging.

The Rizon brand will be launched with three different models known as the e18L, e16L, and e16M. Daimler didn’t go into many specifics, but they’ll be Class 4 and 5 medium-duty trucks with gross vehicle weight ratings of between 15,995 lbs (7,255 kg) and 17,995 lbs (8,162 kg). The company went on to say they’re “ideally suited to a variety of applications such as dry vans, flatbeds, landscape dumps, and reefers.”

The trucks will also have Active Brake Assist and Active Side Guard Assist technology, while the batteries are covered by a five year or 120,000 mile (193,121 km) warranty.

Rizon vehicles will be distributed by Velocity in the United States and they’ll arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. Daimler said they’ll be aimed at businesses involved in urban retail logistics, last-mile deliveries, and municipal work.
