MG announced a number of updates for the HS flagship SUV in the UK. The Toyota RAV4 rival benefits from a facelift that was originally introduced back in 2020 and is already available in many other markets.
The company published a single photo of the 2023 HS highlighting its redesigned front end with a larger grille and more aggressive headlights. Other changes include the revised rear end with dual exhaust pipes and fresh LED taillights, the addition of the Urban Grey exterior shade, and the new 18-inch wheels with a diamond-cut design.
Predictably, the updated UK-spec model looks just like the Chinese-spec Pilot and the HS which is currently sold in Thailand and Indonesia. The right-hand-drive model is also expected to reach Australian dealerships later this year.

Inside there is an updated infotainment that retains the 10.1-inch touchscreen display, and the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while introducing new soft-touch materials. Standard equipment in the entry-level SE trim includes bi-function LED headlights, sequential indicators, air conditioning, navigation, rearview camera, rear sensors, and the MG Pilot ADAS package. The flagship Trophy trim adds leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, ambient lighting, and a six-speaker audio system.
Under the bonnet lies the same turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine that produces 160 hp (119 kW / 162 PS). Power is transmitted to the front axle through either a six-speed manual gearbox or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Interestingly, the electrified MG HS PHEV with a combined output of 254 hp (190 kW / 258 PS) and a 32-mile (51 km) zero-emission range remains available with the pre-facelift design and there is no word on when and if it will benefit from the aforementioned updates.
The 2023 MG HS is available to order in the UK starting from £23,495 ($29,233) which is exactly the same as its predecessor. Note that the HS first reached the UK shores in 2019, one year after it debuted in China. Below, you can see photos of the facelifted MG HS from other markets.
