When behind the wheel, you probably want to make sure that all doors are shut before reversing or moving forwards. That didn’t happen in the case of a Mustang driver, who smashed the door on a garage wall causing some serious damage.
Video footage of the incident was uploaded on Instagram by blogger @roc_nyc. It shows a silver pre-facelift sixth-gen Ford Mustang reversing at low speed through a fairly large door. This may sound like an easy task, but the driver had left the door open and probably didn’t notice while looking back in a quest to navigate the vehicle.

The door initially hits a metal table producing a lot of noise, but the driver doesn’t stop there, ending up smashing it into the garage wall. Even though the door stays in one piece and the frameless window doesn’t shatter, we can see some deformation on the door hinges and on the front fender of the Mustang, meaning that the repair bill will cost a pretty penny.
It’s hard to ignore the number of Mustangs represented in the ‘Accidents‘ section of our website. Typically, these crashes occur when drivers are leaving car meets or trying to impress bystanders. In this case, the driver of the Mustang didn’t attempt any wild maneuvers like burnouts or drifting, yet still managed to crash. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident, but the owner’s pride likely took a hit.
