A Porsche 911 GT2 RS that was absolutely destroyed in a crash has been sold on Copart and according to new reports, may have been owned by professional golfer Patrick Reed.
Images shared online of the car should that it is in a serious state of disrepair and that every single body panel has suffered damage of some sort. The carnage starts at the front end where the passenger-side front quarter panel has been torn off completely, the bumper destroyed, and the wheel ruined.

Additionally, the sports car’s windshield has been smashed, the roof has caved in, both of the doors are destroyed, and the engine cover and rear wing are missing. It seems very likely that the car rolled multiple times and it obviously won’t be worth the trouble of fixing. However, given that it had been driven just 361 miles (581 km) at the time of the crash, it seems likely the winning bidder may try and salvage its powertrain.
Shortly after the car was listed up for auction through Copart, online sleuths over at Reddit and VINwiki started to suggest that this 911 GT2 RS was the one purchased new by Patrick Reed who currently completes with LIV Golf, The Drive notes. Reed ordered a custom 911 GT2 RS after he won the 2018 Masters, opting to have it finished in a one-off color known as Masters Green and complete with yellow brake calipers, yellow ‘GT2 RS’ logos on the exterior, and a black interior with yellow accents.
Details surrounding the crash that led to the destruction of Reed’s 911 GT2 RS aren’t known but we hope that whoever was driving the car at the time didn’t sustain any serious injuries. After all, you can’t replace a human life but given how much professional golfers can earn, we’re sure Reed can easily replace his Porsche.
